Overview and Schedule
Night is among the most powerful of personal narratives. It is a memoir written in nine chapters that chronicles a boy’
s struggle to survive the inhumane conditions of Auschwitz and other concentration camps while he struggles with
his dwindling faith.
Below are some of the activities that you will complete while reading Night:
• Journal writing
• Daily Reading Log entries (dialectic journaling, drawings, Text/Me charts)
• In-class guided discussions and Socratic Seminars (in bold)
• Reading and responding to several additional poems, essays, excerpts that relate to Night
